Structured visual arts instruction developing technical skills, creativity, and artistic expression.
Visual arts education at Omei Academy is built on thoughtful instruction, consistent practice, and engaging creative projects. Teacher demonstrations, guided practice, and individual feedback provide students with opportunities to learn new techniques while enjoying the process of creating art.
What Students Learn
Students work on projects that are appropriate for their age and experience, allowing younger and older students to learn together while developing skills at their own level.
Younger students build foundational drawing skills using colored pencils and markers while exploring color, shape, and creative expression.
Older students gradually transition to watercolor, developing painting techniques, composition, color relationships, and increasingly detailed artistic projects.
Each artwork is completed over two classes, giving students time to refine techniques, thoughtfully complete their work, and gradually develop confidence in their artistic abilities.
Student Artwork
Our students' artwork reflects the creativity, technical development, and artistic growth fostered through guided instruction and consistent practice.
